Executive Board:

Executive Director
Christina started organizing and curating fiber art exhibitions in 2010, and worked as the Exhibitions Chairperson for the Contemporary QuiltArt Association for two years. She has experience in all stages of group exhibition management: contacting and working with venues, jury selection and jury process, managing the call for artwork, planning out the art placement in the gallery space, setting up receptions, and show installation and take-down. As a fiber and mixed media artist, Christina’s work has been exhibited internationally, at such venues as the National Quilt Museum (Paducah, KY), the Patchwork and Design Festivals (Rio and Sao Paulo, Brazil), the Sookmyung Women’s University Museum (Seoul, Korea), the Chung Young Yang Embroidery Museum (Seoul, Korea), The Taiwan International Quilt Exhibition, Seattle Center’s 50th anniversary celebration, La Conner Quilt and Textile Museum and more. Christina’s professional background includes being a website designer and developer, being in charge of finances for a small aerospace firm, and managing a small company with 50 employees. She is currently working through the “Design and Stitch” diploma program at the Gail Harker Center for Creative Arts in La Conner.

Barbara Matthews has curated eight shows in her seven years as an artist. In her prior life, she served as project manager of major national, multidisciplinary, academic research projects at the University of Washington funded by the National Cancer Institute and the Centers for Disease Control resulting in over ten peer reviewed journal articles. Barbara started her career as co-owner with her husband of Kleos Corporation, a business information system developer. She served as vice president where she conducted marketing, legal, and financial functions. She graduated with a Master in Business Administration and a certificate from the Fiber Arts Certificate Program at the University of Washington.
Maura DoneganMaura Donnegan
Education Director
Maura Donegan is an artist living and working in Issaquah, WA. She received her B.A. from University College, Dublin, Ireland. She subsequently studied at City and Guilds of London, UK, receiving diplomas in design and embroidery and a certificate in patchwork and quilting. She lived in Ireland and Canada until 1998, when she moved to the US. Her stitched work consists mostly of lace cloths created from silk organza and thread, with some small sculptural works.
Maura’s strong interest in language and history inspires her work, and her preferred medium is embroidery.
She has exhibited in the Quilt and Textile Museum, LaConner, at Catherine Person Gallery and Method Gallery in Seattle, and extensively in the PNW.
